MY STORY
When I was 8 years old, I fled Kurdistan with my parents and five siblings as political refugees. We had nothing—no belongings, no safety, no future, except for the clothes on our backs. My parents, were in theier mid thirties, but they led us through unimaginable hardships, using smugglers to find safety in Germany. My dad got arrested at the boarder in Austria and was sent back to turkey, where his life was in danger because Kurds were persecuted in Turkey.
A year later my dad made it on his third attempt to get to his family.
This journey marked the beginning of a life filled with battles—battles not just for survival, but for justice, equality, and dignity.
